CHAMP Month (Children in Hospitals Awareness Month) is a national movement every April. that exists to help children and their families they are seen, heard, and celebrated.
When people show up in a visible way, it changes how families experience the fight.

What is a yellow out?
A Yellow Out is when your company, team, school, church, or organization visibly shows support for children and families in hospitals by wearing yellow together.
Yellow is the color of hope.
When your team wears yellow, you are helping create a public show of encouragement that says:
We see you. We stand with you. You are not alone.
Our biggest national Yellow Out moment happens on Friday, April 24.
That is the day we are asking people everywhere to stand for kids publicly.

CHAMP Month stands for Children in Hospitals Awareness Month.
It is a national movement designed to create visible moments of support so children and families in hospitals can feel seen, heard, and celebrated while they are still in the fight.
We are building a Relay of Hope.
From hospital rooms to workplaces, campuses, media stations, and communities, people come together to show children and families that they are not alone.
Hope is a team sport.
For families, hope is oxygen.
Behind every hospital door, there is:

A Relay of Hope

We envision a world where no child spends a hospital day unseen, and no family faces the long walk to the elevator feeling alone. Through the Human Relay of Hope, every person who wears yellow, shares a ROAR, donates a CHAMP Pack, or partners with us becomes a link in a living chain of care that wraps around hospital communities year‑round.
CHAMP Month is the moment we rise together—families, hospitals, media, and communities—to say with one voice: we see you, we hear you, and we will keep passing hope forward.

A simple, powerful journey that any hospital, school, community group, or family can follow to surround children in hospitals with steady, visible hope.
Week 1 • See
Visibility
Learn the stories of children in hospitals and the realities families face. Host a CHAMP moment, share educational resources, and invite your community to see what’s often hidden in plain sight.
Week 2 • Wear
Turn your yellow on.
Wear yellow on Friday, decorate your space with yellow roses, and invite others to ask why. Every conversation is a bridge between hospital walls and the wider community.
Week 3 • ROAR
Lift your VOICE.
Record and share your ROAR of encouragement—short video messages, songs, cheers, or prayers—to be delivered to children and families. Flood the ROAR Gallery with hope‑filled sound.
Week 4 • Extend
Pass it on for Victory.
Deliver CHAMP Packs, support hospital partners, and invite others to join the Human Relay of Hope so that care continues long after CHAMP Month ends.
The ROAR Gallery
Where courage and encouragement meet.
The ROAR Gallery is a living wall of hope—videos, audio messages, drawings, and notes from around the world, all speaking directly to children and families in hospitals. It’s where kids can see and hear just how many people are cheering them on.
Add your ROAR, share the gallery with a family you know, or partner with your local hospital to bring the ROAR Gallery to life on their walls and screens.
Wear Yellow Friday
One simple color, one powerful signal of hope.
Every Friday during CHAMP Month, we invite you to Wear Yellow for children in hospitals. From T‑shirts and ties to scrubs and sneakers, your yellow becomes a visible sign that you are carrying hope on behalf of families.
- Invite your workplace, school, or faith community to choose a Wear Yellow Friday.
- Take a group photo with yellow roses or yellow signs of encouragement.
- Share your photos with the hashtag #CHAMPMonth to encourage families and inspire others.
- Pair your yellow with a ROAR message or donation to multiply the impact.
You may never meet the child who feels a little less alone because you wore yellow—but they will feel the warmth of a community standing with them.
