EXTEND THE ROSE

One Rose Can Change Everything

One Rose. One Child. One moment of Hope.

Why We Exist

Hope isn’t abstract. It’s personal.

We bring hope to hospital rooms. One child, one photo, one roar at a time.

When a child is hospitalized, their whole world changes.

At Extend the Rose, we create moments of visibility, voice, and victory, reminding children and their families that

they are seen, heard, and celebrated.

Because hope is not just a feeling, it’s a team sport.

And every team effort begins with the decision to show up, for someone else.

One rose can change everything!

A Divine Connection

Jeff had asked me to go sign my book for a family, so I walked over and gently asked if they had a boy or a girl.

They told me, “A boy. He’s had a transplant, and he’s not doing well.”

I asked, “What kind of transplant?”

They said, “A liver.”

I froze. No way. My daughter also had a liver transplant.

“May I ask why he needed a transplant?” I asked.

They said, “A rare genetic disorder.”

Now it was getting stranger.

I said, “My daughter had a rare genetic disorder too. Which one?”

They answered, “A urea cycle disorder.”

My heart leapt. What?

I said, “My daughter was transplanted because of Citrullinemia—also a urea cycle disorder.

Which one did your son have?” They said, “OTC.”

At that moment, I told them, “You have to meet my daughter. She’s turning 32.”

They were amazed—“That’s older than us!”—and I reminded them, this is such a God thing.

And it truly was. Because right there with me was Tresa, the executive director of the

National Urea Cycle Disorders Foundation.

Even more extraordinary, her daughter Lexie—who also had a liver transplant

for OTC—was at the event as well.

For over an hour, Victoria, Lexie, Tresa, and I were able to speak with this family

in a way no one else ever had. Because urea cycle disorders are so rare,

they had carried their questions in silence—until they met us, and suddenly,

there was a shared language and they were no longer alone.

Later, I learned the whole family had flown in that very day to say goodbye to their little boy,

in case he didn’t survive. He had suffered severe complications—sepsis after transplant

because the bowel hadn’t been reconnected properly.

They were desperate for answers. They asked Tresa about ammonia levels,

about hospitalizations, about surgeries.

I told them how I had written in detail about those first-year battles with Torrey in my book.

Seeing two transplanted urea cycle “kids” thriving, and being able to connect with Tresa,

gave them something they hadn’t had before: reassurance, resources, and hope.

And because of that divine meeting, Connor and Natalie returned to their son with something

new in their hearts—hope.

Their little boy, Luka, turns one on September 21.

Visibility: The Photo Booth Project

Kids become the heroes of their own story, just by being seen.
Surprise photo booths. Famous faces. Unforgettable moments.
One powerful click and suddenly, they’re not just the kid in the hospital. They’re the headline.
This is reverse paparazzi at its best:
Cameras pointed not at celebrities, but at the real stars of the day.
Each photo reframes the story and hands it back like a mirror of strength that can be PRINTED, POSTED, SHARED and REMEMBERED!.
Because when a child is truly seen,
They don’t just light up,
They shine forward.

Voice: The Roar Gallery

A digital wall where courage echoes

and hope gets louder.
These aren’t just videos,
they’re
ROARS of victory declaring:
“I’m here. I’m strong. Look what I did today.”
Each roar builds a living wall of bravery and strength.
When they roar, we all rise.
Come for inspiration.
Leave with even more courage.

Victory: Week of Hope

Our signature event: where hope blooms.
A national celebration inside hospital walls.
Face painters, comfort dogs, and joy-filled interruptions transform ordinary hospital

days into unforgettable ones.
Because every milestone is a miracle, and
every child deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

From One Rose to Millions…

Though we’re focused right now on our week of hope events, we’re headed to the 2027 Tournament of Roses Parade.

For us, the Rose Parade isn’t the finish line, It’s the exclamation point!

It began with one rose, given to one mother.

In 2027, that single act of hope will bloom into millions, seen by more than 28 million people around the world.

One Float. One Message. Bringing
Visibility, Voice, and Victory to children nationwide.

Because these kids deserve the spotlight to be
seen, heard, and celebrated.

Not just once, but always.
