Extend the Rose is a promise that every child fighting in a hospital will one day feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Our dream is to bring this message to the Tournament of Roses Parade, a spectacular stage where millions can witness the power of Visibility, Voice, and Victory.
Our first float honors the children and families affected by Urea Cycle Disorders (UCDs). This mission is personal to founder Kimberly Stevens, whose family was changed by Citrullinemia. The loss of her son, Braden Michael, and the survival of her daughter, Victoria Faith, fuel this cause.
If the Check Ammonia campaign had existed in 1991, Braden might be alive today. That truth is why we celebrate the monumental growth in UCD awareness, thanks to the National Urea Cycle Disorders Foundation (NUCDF) and the Check Ammonia initiative:
Visibility saves lives. Our 2027 float will honor the UCD community, celebrating their courage and resilience, and ensuring that no child with any illness fights unseen. When hope is seen and shared, it grows and roars.
The Rose Parade float is a powerful display of hope, carrying the ROARS of children and families to hearts around the world. The journey begins in the ROAR Gallery, a digital collection that amplifies stories. Every ROAR is a spark of hope traveling from a child's hospital room to Pasadena.
Whether you are ROARing from a hospital room or from your living room to lift up those inside them, your voice matters. When you upload your ROAR, you remind the world that hope lives on both sides of the fight: in those who battle and in those who believe.
Hope is a Team Sport.
EVERYONE can ROAR to build the float, fuel the movement, and carry hope all the way to Pasadena.
Because when hope roars, anything is possible.
